Professor Suspect's LSD-Chains:

V 1.0:

V1.0.: In 2018, I built my first LSD chain, inspired by echo Paul Geisler's design. Using an old LED stripe I had on hand, I finally realized an idea I'd been contemplating for years. I glued the LED stripes around the original metal chain, adding painted dots for effect. The power supply was ingeniously embedded, with a cable running through the chain and a battery pack discreetly placed at the back of the neck. This marked the beginning of a journey into creating advanced, reliable, and efficient chains.

V6.0.: Version six introduced significant upgrades. It featured a fabric cable around the neck, an advanced RGB processor with several color programs, and a higher amount of LEDs around the chain. The power supply was also enhanced for better performance. I distributed five prototypes, with four currently in the wild and one kept at home. As limited edition, I produced ten chains, which were given out at our HGich.T concerts. These editions are spread across the Land.

V8.3.:

Version eight tackled a major challenge by integrating the power supply into the chain, rather than placing it externally at the back of the neck. This involved creating space within the chain for both a USB charging port and the battery. With the help of a knowledgeable friend, we made significant progress, though the power supply was not completely flush with the chain. In versions 8.2 and 8.3, we refined this design, successfully embedding the power supply and battery so that they sit seamlessly within the chain, matching its height perfectly. Each version comes with a USB-C cable and a matching necklace designed to complement the chain.

2024:

In 2016, Eric André mentioned our music video 'Tutenchamun' as one of his favorites in a Team Coco video. In 2020 Inspired by that, as a thank you, I had the idea to send him an LSD chain to his fan mail. To my surprise, he came to Berlin in 2024. After the show, I threw the chain on stage, and someone, likely majorentertainr, picked it up and placed it on Eric André's desk. It stayed there for at last fifteen minutes of the show, even as the crowd thinned out. Although I was concerned it might be taken by security, I had faith it will find its way.I decided to go to another show, in Amsterdam. Actually the last Europe Show ever, of the final-tour. I spent the night skating through the city and then had just two hours of sleep in the park.. Then I visited some Headshops and became so stoned and even more trash. Then I began waiting outside the venue from noon.Suddenly, DJ Doggpound, the producer of my favorite TV show and second favorite show, the Eric Andre Show, walked by me, and I jumped up to talk to him. As I was about to give him the second LSD chain, he said, 'No, no, no, we still have the one from Berlin! Thanks, man.Where did you come from?' I told him about my long ride of nineteen hours and mentioned our band, HGichT. He searched for it on Spotify but we struggled with the pronunciation. He laughed and said, 'Bro, I have to go to the venue. They need me there. We'll talk later.' The whole encounter was a mix of exhaustion and excitement!I hope Eric took the chain home safely. It would be amazing for me to see if he wore it. Because he liked our video, he might be open to a booking request from us. Maybe we could play at his birthday or another event! It would be awesome to meet Doug again! But that's something for the future. It's funny that I didn't realize until the Berlin show of Eric André that the producer of the show, DJ Doggpound, is also the producer of Tim and Eric's Awesome show. I only found out about DJ Doggpound after the Berlin concert. What's amusing is that my friend and the creator of our band, HGichT, is called DJ Hundefriedhof, which translates to DJ Dog-Cemetery in English. And DJ Doggpound's name in German, DJ Hundezwinger, translates to Doggpound. Plus, Dogg has a Spotify and on his title-picture, is a collage of edible mushrooms - while DJ Hundefriedhof makes a lot of videos about edible mushrooms. It feels like a cosmic coincidence!

Later this year, we played a concert in Cologne for the 20th Birthday of Die Partei, narrated by Martin Sonneborn, a prominent figure in the Bundestag and leader of the party. I had five LSD chains with me, but they all broke the day before at the Klangtherapy Festival due to sand getting under the LED strips in my backpack. I managed to repair two of them in the car. Martin asked for a vinyl, and we gifted him a signed vinyl (Therapy Works, Therapie wirkt), added a T-shirt, and I personally included one of the repaired LSD chains, knowing that Martin Sonneborn is also a fan of LSD, mushrooms, and marijuana. Martin was thrilled and asked what he could give us in return. I jokingly asked for a Golden Party membership card, and he gave me his personal Parteiausweis, signed and everything. It was an amazing night, and it's intriguing to think he now has an LSD chain at home, given his role as Europes leading satire publisher.
